The International Climbers’ Festival was established in 1993 by climbers for climbers. Now in its 23nd year of existence, over 500 climbers descend upon the small western town of Lander, Wyoming for the celebration of climbing and the climbing lifestyle.
Over 20 years ago a group of climbers launched the first International Climbers’ Festival right here in Lander WY. This grassroots festival has been a summer highlight ever since. Climbers from all around the globe have made the voyage to Lander to celebrate climbing, listen to great music, drink beer and climb.
Since that summer in 1993 when the Festival began, there are hundreds of additional routes, new crags developed and more great places to eat or get a beer. But things haven’t changed that much. Wild Iris Mountain Sports is still the one-stop shop for info and gear for Wyoming climbing. The Lander Bar/Gannett Grill is still the place to grab a local burger and cool off with a brew after a day in the Canyon, City Park still offers free camping and Lander is still a fantastic place to test your skills whichever discipline of climbing suits your fancy.
