with Shingo Ohkawa, Greg Troutman, & Mark Evans: “Wyoming’s Wind River range is the perfect springboard for climbers seeking to build their skills to tackle even bigger adventures in the Greater Ranges. My partners and I have enjoyed many seasons exploring this vast, yet accessible, alpine backcountry; each experience—regardless of whether we’d accomplished our goal of opening new routes—was a resounding success, for we all made it back safely, at the conclusion of each trip. Day One of this ground-school clinic will focus on constructing sound, improvised anchors, then will introduce methods to ensure efficient belay transitions. Day Two is devoted to utilizing those anchors—in the case of the unexpected—to initiate basic self-rescue maneuvers, to bail, etc. Self-sufficiency, self reliance in the mountains is our goal, and we hope that our two days together will inspire the confidence you need to take your adventures higher, further.” Skill Level: Some multi-pitch traditional climbing experience. Bring along any traditional gear you’d typically take on a multi pitch route at you local crag. 12 ppl max; $45.
