with Nate Liles: Nate is a photographer and climber based out of Lander, WY and he spends a lot of time up on a fixed line and works regularly to create photo and video content with athletes and brands in the climbing world. Topics will cover: Pre trip planning/location scouting, gear required + optional equipment, consideration for impacts on other climbers while shooting, environmental impacts and awareness, personal and climber safety while adding photography to a day of climbing, simple techniques for fixing/ascending lines and shooting from above, composition styles for compelling climbing images, and climber/photographer communication and planning. We will go through most of this at the cliff as we climb and shoot. Participants should be competent with basic sport climbing skills (leading, belaying, cleaning routes, etc.) and know how to operate the camera they will be using. Bring a GriGri, Gloves, Camera - high quality phone cameras are fine but risky to use up on a lines as you have no strap to clip in. 6 ppl max; $45.
